Sang vs. Psy
Elitism is prevalent everywhere in this world. It is the reason that there are no longer any garbage men, they are all now Sanitation Engineers. Where did the cashiers all go and who are these people calling themselves Associates? Hell, even porn stars are now Adult Entertainers. It seems that titles mean everything.
It goes somewhat deeper than that though. No longer is someone happy being called a manager. They now need to be called Vice President of Customer Accounts. Bullshit, you're the Head Teller. This attitude has spilled over into my world as well. No longer are we content with being labeled as a vampyre. Now we must be labeled by the type of vampirism we have. This does not take into account the fucked up role-players who deem themselves as Druidic Vampires or Neo-Vampires, the crossbreeds of Lycans and Vampires. Oh, just kiss my ass you fucking loser. Yes, I saw Underworld as well. Amazing how people can suddenly start labeling themselves after a blockbuster movie hits the market.
No, what I am referring to is the battle that has waged for years now between the Sang Vampyres and the Psy Vampires. I mentioned the word Sang in one of my previous litanies. Sang is from the root word 'sangre', meaning blood in Spanish. In other words, the Sang Vampyres derive their pranic energy from the blood of their donors.
But here is where I begin to once again have problems and throw fits. Is not the energy that is contained within the blood of living creatures, this same pranic or bioelectric energy? Is it not the same energy that is consumed by the Psy Vampyres as well?
I know, you're all saying " Wow, Sherlock, you finally got a fucking clue!" Damn skippy, I did. Now, if I can only get others to understand this.
Let's break this down. If you ask a Vampyre what KIND of vampire they are, you will get one of the two above repsonses. I am a Sang Vampyre or I am a Psy Vampire. If they say ANYTHING else, spit in their face and call them a roleplayer. Trust me, nothing bad will happen. If they say they are a Sang Vampyre, then ask them if they are able to process psychic or pranic energy as well. If they say yes, you have gotten past the first major step in establishing that yes, this person more than likely IS a Vampyre. If they say NO, they ONLY live off of blood, then quietly walk away and call them a roleplayer VERY quietly so that they do not hear you. Why? Because you are obviously dealing with a delusional roleplayer who has a fetish for blood and the last thing you want for this person to do is to find out exactly HOW much blood your body contains. They are a freak and more than likely a VERY dangerous person.
So what is the point of this? Basically, it comes down to this. There is no difference between a Sang or a Psy Vampyre. They are the same. It is like trying to differentiate between a Vegan and a Meateater. They both still ingest food. They process the protiens, fats and carbohydrates within the food for energy and they process the minerals and vitamins to help the body's other function operate correctly. A meateater is going to eat the same foods as the Vegans, grains, fruits, vegetables and other NON-animal products, but the are also going to feast upon a delicacy that they find fitting to their omniverous histories. Meat. Animal flesh. Products of animals, such as milk, butter, eggs. They are open to filling their body with the energy that is needed and are NOT picky as to where they get their source. Welcome to the world of the Sang Vampyres. It is not that Sangs derive their energies ONLY from blood, but rather that they derive it from Blood Sources as well. The Psy Vampyres are the Vegans. Can they derive energy from blood? Yes. Do they wish to? No. For many, they have never tried. For others, they have tried and were distasteful. For some like myself, I'm just plain scared shitless about blood carried diseases. No, I am not immune to disease. Hoof and Mouth is a malady that effects bovine animals, but eat an anthrax laden steak and you will suffer. The same goes for vampyres, drink the blood of someone with Hepatitis and you are quite able to get it and eventually die from it.
So does this mean that Sang Vampyres and Psy Vampyres are the same? Yes. It does. But unlike vegans and meateaters who only show their true colors when a medium rare t-bone is shoved under their noses, Vampyres let this information be known everytime they state their disease. They provide this information because in someway it makes them feel better about who they are. It allows them to be Elitist and condescending.
Why does any of this matter? Fuck, I don't know. If I knew that, I would spend more time within the Vampyre community helping sort out the important matters. But until some of these Bozo's figure this shit out, it isn't really worth the time or effort. We are persecuted for our beliefs. We hide who we are because people either do not understand or because they DO understand and it scares them. So why should it matter if we are one type or the other. It only matters within our own community and only for the reason that being one or the other promotes you to a higher level. Fucked up, isn't it?
Psy vampyres believe that they are the evolved vampires. The ones who have lost the need to feed off of blood. They have picked themselves up off of the floor and begun to walk erect. The Sang vampyres look at it completely opposite. They are the true vampires. The descendants of the ancients who still drink the blood of their donors. They are feral and wild. They are powerful and erudite. So then there are the Psy's who also believe they are of the ancient line, the ancient lineage. They were the original vampires who, not through evolution, but through personal growth, stepped out of the barnyard of the Sang's and began to feed in a civilized manner.
Back and forth this debate wages until it becomes so much fodder, that neither side makes any sense. And again, we need to hide. If only to hide the fact that we have so much derision within our own community that we cannot present ourselves to the outside world and seem coherent or acceptable. When our kind can finally accept the truth that we are Vampyres and not Sang or Psy, then maybe we can present ourselves to the outside world and NOT be laughed at. Maybe then, we can walk among humans and not be ridiculed. Maybe then, we can let the world know that WE are Vampyres.
